Scott is making his way back from Tommy John surgery with an internal brace, which was performed last September. This bullpen session was the first he’s completed this season, and he is “said to be doing well.” It would be unlikely we see him in a Mets uniform in 2025, but if he continues to progress, he could have a normal offseason heading into the 2026 season.

Crews is going to play four or five innings for Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday and then head to D.C. in time for the four-game series against the Phillies. The 23-year-old was a popular breakout candidate coming into this season, but he has hit just .196/.266/.354 in 45 games before getting hurt. However, he did have seven home runs and 11 steals, so there remains true five-category upside here, and Crews is worth at least a bench stash in 12-team leagues and deeper. He played primarily right field when he was active earlier in the season, but can also play center field, so it remains to be seen if he will bump Daylen Lile or Robert Hassell III from the lineup.

He’s available to pinch-hit, but he probably won’t be allowed to play the field today against the Diamondbacks. Consider him day-to-day.

The Tigers acquired Heuer from the Rangers for cash on July 31st, and the 29-year-old has allowed two runs on three hits in 3 1/3 innings in two appearances for the Tigers so far. He will head to Triple-A with Sawyer Gipson-Long being activated from the injured list.

Gipson-Long has been on the IL with a neck injury since July 2nd. He’s made two rehab starts in Triple-A and has built up to 57 pitches so far. With no clear spot in the Tigers’ rotation, it seems that he could operate as a bulk reliever for now.

Sweeney has now started three of the four games since he was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. With Matt Vierling on the injured list, it seems that the Tigers are going to play Wenceel Perez in right field and shift Javier Baez to center field to allow Sweeney to play regularly at shortstop. The 25-year-old is hitting .208/.277/.301 in 88 games for the Tigers this year and remains off the fantasy radar.

The Pohlad family had reportedly been in talks to sell the team, but chairman Joe Pohlad told the Minnesota Star Tribune that the team has taken on minority partners instead and will remain in control of the organization. While the new partners have not been revealed, the Star Tribune reports that “in both cases, they are groups of investors, not a single buyer,” and both groups will have a seat on the board of directors, which gives them input into the decisions impacting the Twins. MLB still needs to approve the new partners, and it remains to be seen what, if anything, this means for the Twins’ operating budget and how they choose to run the team.

McLean is the Mets’ top pitching prospect and the 37th-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline. The 24-year-old has a 2.45 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 127/50 K/BB ratio in 113 2/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season. A former two-way player, McLean has taken off since focusing on pitching. He boasts an upper-90s fastball that can miss bats up in the zone and a sinker that induces lots of groundballs. He also misses bats with an elite sweeper and uses an 89 mph cutter to bridge the gap between that and his fastballs. McLean has a true six-pitch mix and has the fantasy upside to be added in all league types. The only concern is that he has already surpassed his career-high in innings, so it’s unclear how deep the Mets are going to let him go in games or how long he will remain a regular starter in the rotation.
