- #98 [higo], 10-05-13 19:02Any C-Hing know if this Oyaide firewire cable is available in HK?
http://www.phileweb.com/news/d-av/201003/19/25567.html - #97 [DWS], 10-05-07 15:00It won't because Weiss DACs draw no power from firewire bus, and the INT202 if using external power supply, it will automatically cut the power demand from computer.

- #96 [sherman1215], 10-05-07 14:37I would like to ask:
is 4pin better than 6pin for the transmission to the Weiss DAC because 4pin carry no power? - #95 [seamonster], 10-04-01 23:45Where can I get this firewire cable?
- #94 [elo], 10-03-29 12:23The cable we ordered is not bad. The vocal is more vivid and the bass is tighter when compare Apple original Firewire.
Glad to hear the update about the power supply. Thanks.
Search the message here and found Oyaide also produce Firewire cable now.

I think your set up is already better than mine. I connect my Mac Mini to local made Sine power conditioner. I think to further improve your setup, a purpose built linear power supply may be the only answer. Bolder cable offers linear power supply for Mac mini but not sure whether there is similar one, from other brands as well, for Macbook. - #86 [Mahler], 10-02-03 21:45elo Hing,
I connect the MacBook to a power source with a localmade isolation transformer separate from my main HiFi gears(using Exact power & Furman balanced power)because I find that connecting a computer to the main HiFi source downgrades the sound of the Main HiFi gears. - #85 [agentsmittie], 10-02-03 14:20Macbook is equipped with mini TOSLINK output.
A TOSLINK to mini adapter can be used with a regular TOSLINK cable with no degradation in sound since it is just a plastic case that let the light pass through.
Example below.

If toslink, which kind ? there are 3 different sizes ? - #83 [elo], 10-02-03 12:47Mahler
You currently plug the Macbook supply to the wall electric outlet ? If so, did you try plug it to a power distributor for audio purpose ? - #82 [elo], 10-02-03 12:02Mahler Hing
Yes, I am talking about my Mac Mini. Sorry that I forgot yours is Macbook. - #81 [Mahler], 10-02-03 00:01elo Hing
I have got this adaptor but it does not fit into the MacBook which is equipped with a magnetic plug to plug into the MacBook. Is it the Mac mini you are talking about or did you do some modification on the MacBook? - #80 [h2005], 10-02-02 17:59anyone using Weiss with QLS QA-550 ?
