Save crashes
This issue is already raised, but I guess it's worth to add another voice here -
Every time I use Save Point crashes my game - at least the game is safe, but it's annoying to start the game again and to start back from there

Do you mean you can't save at all ?
walkermuz Jul 9, 2013 @ 8:44am
No the game saves fine - it just crashes right after it. So in order to continue the game, I have to launch the game again.

So, you got to a savepoint, opened the ingame menu, selected "save", then your selected a save file, then a slot, you saved, it displayed a message in the top left corner "saved locally or something like that".
Then you've pressed cancel to get back to the save screen with the 10 save files. It should have tried to sync if you are playing with the cloud on.
And then it crashed ?

Right at the moment when I exit from 3 save tiles that's when it crashes -
and No, I don't use Cloud Save

How does it crash, do you have an error message ?
If you try to save multiple times in the same file, is it still crashing when you try to get back ?
walkermuz Jul 9, 2013 @ 9:53am
Just a typical Windows error message. Nothing from game.
What do you mean by 'save multiple times in the same file'? Do you mean by saving few times at the same save point on the same tile?

Yes, save multiple times.
What was the error message ?

As I said, typical Windows error message:

FF7_en.exe has crashed

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: FF7_EN.exe
Application Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault module name: StackHash_b3ab
Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.17725

(and the list goes on)

Are you using any mods?
Are you in fullscreen?
Have you tried starting a new game and saving to a new block?
Have you tried backing up and deleting your save files?

I doubt doing any of this will fix it, but it can't hurt to try on the off chance.

I have exactly the same problem. It will save fine but you cannot exit the save menu without it crashing. The crash happens the second you press cancel to get out of the save menu. In fact entering and exiting the save menu will crash the game even if you don't save at all. Like the OP says this is more annoying than it might seem, any help would be much appreciated.

Don't you have a popup saying "unknown exception" when it crash ?
You are saves are correctly saved right ?
You are both playing the english version ?
You have the cloud turned off, this means you don't have any message (related to the saves) display in the top left corner except the "Your save has been locally saved" message.
Does it crash even if you don't save a file ? (you enter the save menu then press back).

As KillingTime replied, just entering the save menu and trying exit from it will crash the game. Saving a game is not what causes crash - it's the save menu itself.

And No, I'm not using Cloud Save feature at all.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. The game crashes when exiting the save menu, and I have to restart it. I'm in Windowed mode, using the English version, with cloud saving turned off (it did the same thing with it on, too), it crashes even if you don't save (just trying to exit the screen causes the crash), and it's a "FF7_EN.exe has encountered an exception and needs to close." error message.

Right, Siyual. Your experience is just like mine and KillingTime have stated.
This definately is the executable build error.

I'm having the same problem. Has anyone found a fix?
