Cate Blanchett, known for her brave choice of red carpet outfits, outdid herself in Paris with a cobweb frock suitable for a Halloween party.

The Australian actress wore the Christopher Kane frock, with a spider web bodice and tulle skirt, to the premiere of the new Woody Allen film Blue Jasmine.

She was joined on the red carpet by Sally Hawkins, Allen and his his wife Soon-Yi Previn.
The film, which has received rave reviews and is tipped to be an Oscar contender, stars Blanchett as a Wall Street wife who goes to live with her sister (Hawkins) in San Francisco after her marriage to her husband (Alec Baldwin), breaks down.
Blue Jasmine, released in the US in late July, may be Allen's highest-grossing film yet.
